OpenTempo FM is a weekend
based Radio Station situated in the heart of waterford city. We aim to bring
you a eclectic and appealing set of shows every weekend touching just about
every Genre that Conventional Radio Stations Dont.
The station idea was conceived sometime in 2009 between Kurt J and Robbin G, One having experiance in helping set up a local station, playing music, Gigs and Festivals, and the other having the experiance in playing music, Gigs and Festivals. Both being driven with a passion to entertain and provide a service that no other station was catering to. The idea was not really taken seriously until around November 2011.
Basically like previous stations that appeared in Waterford in the past, and people involved, we were sick of hearing all the radio stations both local and national playing the exact same songs as each other, dreary fist pumping autotone carbon copys of XFactor successors thats been generated by pressing a button on a computer.
We believe that everyone should have an option of what they would like to listen to, and with that we try include as much diversity into each day of broadcasting to keep the listener either on the edge of their seat.
